What is Collagen used for?
Collagen, or rather collagens, are responsible for the firmness and elasticity of the skin. Alongside hyaluronic acid and elastin, it forms a strong network in the second layer of the skin called the dermis. As we age, the quantity and quality of our collagens gradually decrease, which results in notable wrinkles and a "drooping" facial oval associated with the natural process of aging.
When we know the importance of collagen for the skin, we must provide it. So how do we do it?
Just applying products containing collagen is not the solution. Collagen molecules are too large to penetrate the dermis and provide the expected firmness.
